What is a collection of Microsoft Domains commonly called?

EXPLANATION

A Windows domain is a form of a computer network in which all user accounts, computers, printers and other security principals, are registered with a central database located on one or more clusters of central computers known as domain controllers. Authentication takes place on domain controllers.

An Active Directory domain is a collection of objects within a Microsoft Active Directory network. An object can be a single user or a group or it can be a hardware component, such as a computer or printer. Each domain holds a database containing object identity information.

Active Directory domains are grouped in a tree structure; a group of Active Directory trees is known as a forest, which is the highest level of organization within Active Directory. Active Directory domains can have multiple child domains, which in turn can have their own child domains. Authentication within Active Directory works through a transitive trust relationship.

Active Directory domains can be identified using a DNS name, which can be the same as an organization's public domain name, a sub-domain or an alternate version (which may end in .local).  While Group Policy can be applied to an entire domain, it is typical to apply policies to sub-groups of objects known as organizational units (OUs). All object attributes, such as usernames, must be unique within a single domain and, by extension, an OU.

Which of the following is a DOS device driver that allows DOS programs to store data in extended memory via XMS?

Which of the following is a DOS device driver that allows DOS programs to store data in extended memory via XMS?

  • EMM386
  • UMA
  • HIMEM.SYS
  • KMDF
Which of the following is a DOS device driver that allows DOS programs to store data in extended memory via XMS?

EXPLANATION

SYS is a DOS device driver which allows DOS programs to store data in extended memory via the Extended Memory Specification (XMS). This device driver is of particular importance because various versions of Microsoft Windows that ran on top of the DOS operating system required HIMEM. SYS to be loaded to be able to run.
HIMEM. SYS is a DOS device driver which allows DOS programs to store data in extended memory via the Extended Memory Specification (XMS). This device driver is of particular importance because various versions of Microsoft Windows that ran on top of the DOS operating system required HIMEM.

What common command line utility can be used to see MAC addresses of network devices on a LAN?

What common command line utility can be used to see MAC addresses of network devices on a LAN?

  • telnet -l
  • arp -a
  • ipconfig /all
  • ping -a
What common command line utility can be used to see MAC addresses of network devices on a LAN?

EXPLANATION

Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is a procedure for mapping a dynamic Internet Protocol address (IP address) to a permanent physical machine address in a local area network (LAN). The physical machine address is also known as a Media Access Control or MAC address.
arp is an operating system command used to view and modify the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache. These activities will show you how to use the arp command.

What 32-bit bus architecture was introduced by IBM with their new PS/2 range of personal computers in 1987?

What 32-bit bus architecture was introduced by IBM with their new PS/2 range of personal computers in 1987?

  • Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI)
  • Micro Channel (MCA)
  • VESA Local Bus (VLB)
  • Extended Industry Standard Architecture (EISA)
What 32-bit bus architecture was introduced by IBM with their new PS/2 range of personal computers in 1987?

EXPLANATION

Micro Channel architecture, or the Micro Channel bus, was a proprietary 16- or 32-bit parallel computer bus introduced by IBM in 1987 which was used on PS/2 and other computers until the mid-1990s.

IBM PC AKA Acorn
The code name for the new computer was "Acorn." Twelve engineers, led by William C. Lowe, assembled in Boca Raton, Florida, to design and build the "Acorn." On August 12, 1981, IBM released their new computer, re-named the IBM PC.

80mm and 120mm are common sizes for what type of PC component?

80mm and 120mm are common sizes for what type of PC component?

  • USB
  • IEEE 1284
  • Case Fan
  • Heat sink

EXPLANATION

A computer fan is any fan inside, or attached to, a computer case used for active cooling. Fans are used to draw cooler air into the case from the outside, expel warm air from inside and move air across a heat sink to cool a particular component.
It is always our recommendation that you buy cases with a minimum of 3 fans (or at least slots for adding them yourself) for gaming systems, not counting the power supply, CPU, and GPU fans. I know we say this about a lot of things (especially power supplies), but you really don't want to skimp on cooling.
